Obama: A Play In 3 Acts - Paperback
Details
by Acie Cargill (Author)
In the 2008 presidential election Barack Obama swept over the country with his charm and promises to make changes. People were tired of the economic depression and the Middle East wars. Obama was a young African-American from Chicago with an attractive and intelligent family. It was time for change and Obama offered it. This is a short play touching on his 8 years in office, with glimpses into his family and personal life and his best friend and vice president Joe Biden. Several scenes feature their family friend Oprah Winfrey conducting interviews with Barack, Michelle, and the two daughters, Malia and Sasha. It would take many volumes to really cover all the events of those eight years. In fact, they are building a whole library for that purpose, but this play attempts to provide a taste of who he was in those years. It is approximately 5,500 words and can be produced in about an hour for the three acts and an intermission.
